HP Spectre x360 2022 review: From Bond villain to accountancy

In laptop language, the ‘Spectre’ initially appeared in HP’s lineup in 2012, exactly ten
years ago. Back then, every firm in the world produced heavy, cumbersome laptops
primarily constructed of plastic and occasionally metal. In 2012, the HP Envy 14
‘Spectre’; laptop, composed of metal and glass rather than plastic, entered the
Naturally, it is evident that the Spectre sat at the top of the heap in terms of its
premium-ness when HP spun Spectre into its brand of a then-new category of
laptops called “ultrabooks” It was apparent from the design of the computer that it
would be expensive even without looking at the price tag. Here you will find HP
Spectre x360 2022 reviews and specifications.
A Clever Camera
Selfies taken with the 5-megapixel webcam are well-lit, clear, and vibrant. It can
record 1080p movies at 30 frames per second and have three high-resolution aspect
ratio options: 16:9 (2,560 by 1,440 pixels), 4:3 (2,560 by 1,920 pixels), or 3:2 (2,560
by 1,706 pixels).
The camera can be turned off with a top-row keyboard key, as shown by a key LED
and tiny diagonal lines over the lens. During conference calls, the webcam allows
you to roam about (within reason) thanks to its auto frame feature, appearance filter,
and illumination adjustment. The HP Command Center, which integrates the
webcam above add-ons (GlamCam) with network traffic optimization and automated
or manual cooling fan management, is launched by pressing a key in the top row.
Smart Keyboard
Speaking of keys, the keyboard offers a nice, quick typing experience and is brightly
lighted. We regret that it does not retain the Spectre x360 14's dedicated Home, End,
Page Up, and Page Down keys on the right-hand column and that it continues HP`s
the bothersome practice of arranging the cursor arrow keys in an awkward row rather
then the proper inverted T.
Great Sound Speaker
The sound produced by the quad speakers is clean and clear, with good highs and
mid tones but little bass. Overlapping tracks are simple to distinguish. The Bang &
Olufsen Audio Control software offers equalizer controls, music, movie, voice
settings, and microphone noise cancellation for either one or more speakers.
The included pen has excellent palm rejection, 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity,
and tilt control, and the 3:2 aspect ratio is the closest to a pad of paper that can be
used in tablet mode. Even with my quickest swipes and scribbles, it kept up.
OLED Screen

Rich, dark, and bright colors and sharp contrast make the OLED screen simply
unique. White backgrounds are spotless rather than dirty, and the contrast is
phenomenal. There is no visible pixelation, even in the minute details. Although the
touch glass picks up reflections at extreme angles, viewing angles are wide, and
brightness is sufficient. You can select the sRGB, DCI-P3, Adobe RGB, or default
color settings using the HP Display Control software.

Battery and Display Tests
The Spectre x360 13.5 took first place in our battery marathon, with more than 15
hours of battery life. Its measured screen brightness fell a little short of the 400 nits
we look for in a high-end laptop, but the incredibly high contrast of OLED technology
makes that much less of an issue than it would be for an IPS panel. It is only rivaled
by Yoga in terms of vibrant, vivid color.
Verdict: One Elegant, Classy Convertible
HP gets credit for including a tiny docking station and a pen with a magnetic
The screen form will ultimately determine your decision, and in our opinion, just as
viewing an OLED screen prepares you for an IPS panel, viewing a tall 3:2 display
spoils you for a more traditional view. We now prefer the HP Spectre x360 13.5 as
our preferred 2-in-1.
